By Andrew Ekejiuba

Former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Chairman, Sani Lulu, the Secretary general, Bolaji Ojo-oba and Vice Chairman, Amanze Uchegbulam may face prosecution from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following glaring allegations of financial misappropriation and abuse of office during their tenure.

FS Sports gathered that the trio had been quests to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) since last week. The Chairman of EFCC, Mrs. Farida Waziri had revealed that the commission is investigating the circumstances that led to their sack and further confirmed that they had received some petitions against them.

The Chairman of EFCC, Mrs. Farida Waziri had revealed that the commission is investigating the circumstances that led to their sack and further confirmed that they had received some petitions against them.

Head, Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Babafemi confirmed that invitations have been extended to officials of the NFF over alleged misappropriation of N1.3billion, gross abuse of public funds among other alleged fraudulent acts.

Another source at the anti-graft agency who begged anonymity said government has taken interest on the roles played by some members of the NFF in the alleged N1.3billion as the officials of the NFF turned the World Cup tournament into a jamboree.

Their respective roles the source said will be made public as they will have the opportunity to share their experience, shopping spree as well as illegal sponsorship of their cronies to the football tourney.

Meanwhile indications emanating from the anti-graft body revealed that the trio will find it hard to escape the claws of the law given that the EFCC has listed over 100 allegations against them, before, during and after the painful exit of Nigeria from the mundial.

An unconfirmed report had it that the former NFF helmsmen took more than 300 delegates to the mundial in South Africa and allegedly bribed 37 FA chairmen with N5million each to secure victory in the yet to be conducted election into the football ruling body in Nigeria. It was also gathered that funds made available to the Federation by FIFA and CAF were mismanaged without recourse to due process by the trio.

Other allegations include the disappearance of $236,000 from the coffers of the federation in highly questionable manner from the NFF Glasshouse in Abuja. Also the sum of $5million on proceeds of marketing given to the body by FIFA was equally poorly managed as well as the $1million from corporate sponsors and FIFA.
